SNL's Thursday Show

I found out that the SNL weekend update show that will air this Thursday on NBC is only going to be running for a 3-week stint. That's unfortunate, but on the bright side it will be contain new content and be "live" (for east coast audiences). Maybe if the ratings are very high they may consider extending it...

Sat Night Live Weekend Update

OJ finally guilty of something...
I like what Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update had to say about it: (loose paraphrase) "On Friday, a jury found OJ Simpson guilty of twelve counts of armed robbery and kidnapping...really, of murder" Isn't that the truth?! Well, I guess better late than never.

Weekend Update on Thursday...
Speaking of weekend update, I couldn't be more pleased to find out that NBC's going to air a 30 minute weekend update on Thursday nights. For me, Weekend Update and the Opening Skit are the best parts of SNL. I must admit, for awhile there, it was The reason I tuned in to SNL. But, I haven't been able to find out anything about this Thursday show. Will it be an ongoing show or just once? A compilation of previous weekend updates or will it contain all new content? If you find out before Thursday, let me know.

Opening Skit: VP Debate...
I loved the opening skit on the VP debate (http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/video/clips/vp-debate-open-palin-biden/727421/) . Queen Latifah was brilliant as Gwen Ifill. If you haven't seen it, I recommend it. It's hilarious. And, oh so very true to the original.
